Max Joseph Lang, Jr., of Mullica Hill, NJ passed away Monday Aug. 26 after a prolonged illness. He was 78.

Max was an educator in the Penns Grove-Carneys Point school district as a teacher, principal and school board secretary. He was a volunteer fireman, past president of the Jaycees, a member of his parish council, a volunteer for the Red Cross, the American Cancer Society and a  US Navy Veteran. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and held two Masters Degrees.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, June Mary Lang, and his children and grandchildren, Michele Nicastro, Scott Lang, Anthony Nicastro and Michael Lang. Also survived by a brother, Fred Lang.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 31 at FERTIG FUNERAL HOME, 63 N. Main St., Mullica Hill, NJ at 11:30 am.  Family and friends may visit beginning at 10:30 am.
